Amber
Occupational Therapist
Amber graduated from her Bachelor of Occupational Therapy (Honours) at the University of South Australia in March 2025. During her studies and work opportunities, she gained experience across a wide range of settings including hospitals, schools, aged care, youth justice, and private practice. She has supported clients across the lifespan, though her main focus has been working with children and teenagers.
Amber has experience working with young people with Autism, ADHD, global developmental delays, and trauma histories. She has helped clients work toward goals in daily living, sensory regulation, fine and gross motor skills, emotional regulation, social skills, and executive functioning. She is passionate about supporting clients who have experienced trauma, as well as those who are neurodivergent or living with psychosocial disabilities.
With a strong emphasis on client- and family-centred practice, Amber values building strong therapeutic relationships and creating safe spaces where clients feel comfortable and engaged. She draws on trauma-informed approaches and prioritises collaboration with families and multidisciplinary teams to ensure therapy is meaningful, individualised, and empowering. Amber feels most confident providing therapy for capacity building and conducting assessments, and she looks forward to further developing her skills in assistive technology and home modifications.
Outside of work, Amber enjoys reading, she has collected more than 500 physical books, spending quality time with family and friends, and is a coffee enthusiast. She keeps active by going to the gym or walking her dog, and has a love for highland cows, sharks, and all things horror. Another (ironic) fact for Amber is that despite having a Pennywise tattoo, she dislikes clowns.
